I am largely self taught following frustration with evening classes in the 1980's. After a 20 year gap I restarted, while waiting for the light to be in the right place during landscape photography sessions. Although satisfied with the results, I lacked the confidence to continue.
Moving to Silverdale and joining the art group has rekindled an old hobby due to the positive encouragement and support of members. I’m enjoying relearning sketching skills, playing with pastels, working in watercolour and, this year, attempting acrylics. Time is precious with other interests competing for attention; most of my inspiration is from holidays, discovering landscapes and playing with ideas, although very few are used later and even less completed!
